Graighead, Rev. Alexander 1714-1762 +

Rev. Thomas Craighead brought his family from Ulster in 1714 and settled in Boston. Son Alexander was seven at the time and he was ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1735. Rev. Alexander Craighead lived in Dealware for a time and was a minister in Lancaster Co., Pa. until 1753 when he came to Augusta Co., Va. to form a church on the Cowpasture River. Nicknamed the "Pugnacious Parson" for his views on freedom for America. He left the Shenandoah Valley of Va. by 1762 with many of his flock, including my McMurray uncles, and went to Anson Co., N.C. (now York Co., S.C.)

Both of these Rev. Craigheads are (I hope) an important link to my McMurray family in Lancaster Co., Pa. and in Ulster where Thomas was a Presbyterian minister prior to 1714.

Would like to share info with anyone who may have an interest. Don
