Searching for Craighead/Holmes ca.1830

I am posting this on behalf of my good friend Esther Nelson who is ardently researching the Holmes/Craighead African-American geneaology.
It is believed that the Holmes and Craighead families were business partners in a plantation that was located in Craighead County in Forest City (township), Arkansas.
The business ended in 1865 after the slaves were freed by the Emancipation Proclamation.
African-American John Holmes, Sr. (d. 1908 in Brinkley, Monroe Co., Arkansas) and his wife Laura (b. 1855, d. in 1899) had five children. Their names were: Alice, Soloman, John Jr., Nellie Ann, and James Holmes. They lived in Craighead Co., on the Holmes/Craighead plantation.
