Charles Hilan Craig

Trying to find descendants of Charles Hilan Craig, assuming he had any children. He was married in the 1920s to a "Rose C." according to the 1930 Census. Occupation: newspaper editor. In the mid 1920s, I know he also was a register Magician and Entertainer.

Charles Hilan Craig, aka Chas H. Craig, was born 23 December 1901 in Nebraska. He grew up in Morrill, Roosevelt, and Ford Precinct townships of Sioux County and Scotts Bluff county.

Last residence was in Lincoln, Nebraska, time of death being June 1970.

His parents were Charles C. Craig and Chrissie Dorothy Wrensler. Her last name is likely inaccurate. She was born 31 Jan 1883 in Cincinnati, Ohio. But, I can not find any Wrenslers. The name is likely spelled wrong. The birth date of the father is not known, precisely. The pair married in Morrill, Nebraska area in 1900, yet I could not find a 1900 census with the pair listed (yet)

Charles Hilan Craig had siblings, by the names of Harry Lee, Hazel, Fern, and the last is a sister written variously as either Merl, Merle, Murl, or Myrl, or Muriel. It is unclear just what her proper name is.

CHC's grandmother's name is Ida Craig. Age 76 in 1910, living with his father. So, she would have been born circa 1834 in Pennsylvania. No idea whom the husband to Ida would be just yet, either.

An IDA CRAIG turns up in the 1885 Nebraska Census, but I have no access to that just now to confirm identity, etc.

I haven't seen a thread on this family in the forum yet.
But, I spotted that somebody posted a picture of Charles Hilan Craig on ANCESTRY.COM. I have no access to that data, but would love to know whom posted the picture. Refer to "Charles H. Craig." Nebraska, circa 1940 under the pictures category.

Again, I sincerely hope that somebody can shed some light here. Best, Morgan
