I have a Jane Craib born about 1800 and an Elspeth Craib born about 1805-1810 who, I am pretty sure, are sisters. Elspeth was born in Keith, Banffshire so presume Jane may have been too.
If sisters, they both married into the Reid family. Jane married Alexander Reid and Elspeth married Hugh Reid.
Potentially, if Elspeth and Alexander followed traditional Scots naming patterns, the Craib parents would be Margaret and William.
Can you tell me anything else about the Craibs in Keith? Is Garrelburn a hamlet /farm? Do you have any Janes and Elspeths being born?
