Re: your John from Va. I have been looking for info on Hugh N. Craddock, whom I believe is the son of John and Mary Gardner Craddock of Albemarle County, Va. Hugh was born around 1821. He married Emeline Towler Craddock in Bedford Conty, Va. in 1855 and they were divorced in 1858 because he was violent towards her and mistreated her. I think he then moved to Wirt County, WV and enlisted in the federal army of the Civil War. He then married Sarah Brannon in 1863, and began to have more children. I have yet been able to prove this is the same Hugh N. Craddock as my Hugh N. Craddock, but the years seem to fit. If you have additional info, please let me know.
