Hello Scott -- if you're still getting notification of replies here!

I notice that you mention Larraine Williams, researching Craddocks. I was contacted by Larraine about a year ago, about a Craddock ancestor of mine. She was researching Stephen Craddock, a brother of my Sarah Ellen Craddock in Irchester, Northamptonshire, for a descendant of Stephen.

Stephen and Sarah Ellen were children of Joseph Craddock. Information collected by an English Craddock researcher, Dr. Craddock, is that Joseph's wife was Mary Munton, and I have some confirmation for that from their son Lorenzo Craddock's birth certificate, which shows the mother's name as Mary Munton. Their marriage apparently doesn't appear in Northamptonshire records.

Joseph Craddock was my grx3 grandfather. His daughter Sarah Ellen married Charles Carter; their daughter Eliza Jane Carter married Frederick Campion, my father's mother's father.

I am in touch with descendants of another daughter of Sarah Ellen Craddock and Charles Carter, in Ohio. She had been in touch with the descendant of Stephen at one time I believe (I think he is in Australia), but has been unable to contact him recently.

Dr. Craddock's info is that Joseph's parents were Thomas Craddock and Mary. Joseph was born in 1804; he had siblings:

Sarah, 1794
Mary, 1786
Thomas, 1798 (died 1800?)
Mary, 1799 (the first Mary died?)
Thomas, 1801

Numerous Thomases! But yours would not seem to be a sibling of my Joseph. Joseph's children were Lorenzo, Mary Ann (Petit), Sarah Ellen (Carter), Maria, Stephen (not sure I've got them all).

Anyhow -- your mention of Larraine suggests that you and I have common ancestors, somewhere, unless she was researching more broadly than the family of Joseph 1804 son of Thomas.

Do let me know if you read this! I'm in Ontario, but as a result of the much later immigration of Joseph Craddock's great-granddaughter, my grandmother.

Kathryn

(One gentle reminder: it is not good netiquette to post third parties' email addresses, and especially street addresses, in public places!)
