This may be of no relevance, but my grandfather, Harry Johnson Cracknell, (born in Manningtree, Essex, in 1863) settled, after some years in India, in Broome, nr Eye, in Suffolk.

He was one of seven children, the others being; Charles Powell Cracknell b.1859; Walter Samuel Cracknell b.1861; William James Cracknell b.1865; Mary Matilda Cracknell b.1867; Agnes Rachel Cracknell b.1870 and Frederick George Cracknell b.1873.

We don't know what happened to Frederick George, we think he may have gone to Australia.
