I've just received a copy of the wedding certificate of my ancestor George Murton's sister Ellen Murton (born c 1841 Yaxley), who married Alfred Allen at Yaxley, Suffolk in 1859. As both she and George were both illegitimate I was interested to see that her father's name was given as Henry Cracknell, and I wondered if this name rang a bell with any one. Their mother Jane Murton was born 1819 at Kenninghall, Norfolk, and she and her parents and siblings moved to Yaxley by 1825.
