Cracknells in East London

My father, also David Cracknell, is compiling a family tree. He was brought up in Canning Town, East London, in the Thirties, but they moved to Hornchurch, Essex, after WWII. His father and mother were Harry and Elsie. His two brothers were Harry and Leonard. Their grandfather was part of some kind of theatre double act - a sort of Victorian version of Laurel and Hardy, I believe.
If this rings any bells with anyone, I can get some more precise information.
But we would love to hear from any Cracknells who have been in the East London area for a couple of generations or so, even if - like us - you have moved out into the suburbs.
Many thanks,
David Cracknell (Jnr)
