Emily Elizabeth Krabbe 1821-1910 was the second wife of my greatgreat grandfather John Michael Williams, a Quaker elder. She was born in Falmouth, Cornwall, England, the daughter of Frederick Hermann Krabbe, a Dane of Schleswig-Holstein, who was a surgeon in the British Navy and was a prisoner during the French War for nine years from 1803 to 1812 and again during the American War in 1815. Emily Krabbe Williams was an educator and astronomer and was involved with charitable activities like the Home at Falmouth for Destitute Girls, the Salvation Army and the Mission to Lepers. I have a copy of the Quaker Annual Monitor for 1812 with an article about her and her family as well as a photo. I would be happy to share this with anyone researching this family and would be interested in any additional information they might have.
