I can't help you with the more recent Cozad line of the Cossart family, but I do have info re: the Cossart name in France dating to 1224. I know that Cozad is a variant spelling of Cossart and was most likely first used by the children of Peter and Maria (Duryee)Cossart. Peter, who was killed by Indians at Boonesborough, Ky. in 1781, was a descendant of Jacques Cossart, who came to America aboard the DePurmerlander Kerek in October, 1662. The best books I have found are The Cossart Family by Joseph A. Cossiart, History of the Cossart and Allied Families by C.E. Cossart, and The Early Generations of DuPont and Allied Families by
H.A.DuPont.
I have several pages of info about the generations from Jacques up to Peter's death that may be of interest to you. Let me know, and I will gladly send the to you by mail.
