I am looking for ancestors and descendents of my Grandfather, Charles Andrew Cozart (approx. 1895-1956. He might have been from Georgia because my father was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia in 1917. The family later moved to rural Bonifay and Graceville, Florida area. To the best of my knowledge the following information is correct.
He was a Baptist preacher and school teacher/principle.
He was married to Mary Alice Leyton/Layton. Together, they had the children listed below. Then he was married to Ruthie ?, who had two sons, Michael and ?, and two daughters, Rebecca and Maurine.
His siblings were:
LESTER, married Shug. Child= Ernest
SIM, married Mamie A. ?. Children= Dorothy Jean, Jimmy
WILLIE, married Effie ?. Children= Hubert, Houston
MAGGIE, married ? Carter. Children= Ed, Bennie, Nanny Clyde
MINNIE, married ? Cole (last married name). Children= Jim Foxworthy, H. A. Foxworthy
EMMA, married ? Gordon. Children= Dave, Virgil, Bessie
His children were:
LILLIE, married Leland Dixon. Children= Mary, Bubba, Rex
ALBERT, married Rosalie ?. Children= Charles, Wayne, Carol, Ruth, Darrel, Voncil, George
ISAAC, never married, died young.
CLIFTON, married Ruby Collins. Children= Elizabeth Ann, "Junior", Ronnie
CECIL, married Bonnell Collins (second wife). Children= Charlotte, Brenda, Sharon.
HOWARD, married Cumi Judah. Children= Earl, Jerry, Shirley
ROY, died at age 16
EDWARD, married Dorothy Harris. Children= Thomas Wayne (Tommy), Ann
LOUIS, married Janette Collins, then Mary Lou ?. Children= Ronald, Donald (twins)
I have read several family trees, but none gave reference to any names that I have. If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it. And so would several other family members wanting further information.
