I married into this family to find that no one knows a thing about their ancestors.
My last name is spelled COUZZART,pronounced: KA-ZORT.
My husband's family spell their name COUZZORT (my husband's was misspelled on his birth certificate). We are descendants of a Thomas Henry Cuzzort b. GA. 1885,d. GA. 1966; mar. Evie Welchel;ch. Emma Clarice b. 1917 mar. William Reeves; James Thomas; Earnest b. 1922,d. 1981, mar. Myrtle Hicks; Willie Floyd b. 1924,d. 1962, mar. Annie Victoria Dutton; Leo Paul b. 1928, mar. Shilery Ann Kelley; Mary Evelyn b. 1930, mar. J.C. Lorrens----mar. 2nd Gene Crabb; Edna b. 1933, mar. Billy Brown.
All of them were born in GA. I am not sure , but somehow they descend from COSSART----which one? I do not know.
It seems that Anthony pretty much populated the U.S. with all of these variations.
Could I get the correct pronunciation of this name?
