From the book: A Tabulated Genealogy of the Family of Jacques Cossart Jr & Lea Villeman by Dee Ann (Shipp) Buck; Fairfax, VA, March 1991; Vol. 23 J of The Robert MacKay Sr Family History.

I have a copy of this book in my possession. I am seeking to make contact with the AUTHOR. If anyone would know her current address or an e-mail for her, would appreciate the information. Perhaps she will join us on the internet some day!

The descendants of the “original” COSSARTS of this book eventually took on all kinds of variations of the surname. Those variations identified on page one by the author are as follows:

The above stated book has a Table of Contents, but is NOT INDEXED. I have had requests for information from this book, but there are about 2532 individuals identified in the genealogy portion of the book - pages 1 to 131, and specific individuals are not easy to locate.

To aid others in their research, I am IN THE PROCESS of loosely INDEXING the genealogy portion of the book. I will notify researchers when it is finished, and will include the INDEX on my home page.

I am a descendant of this family, but my knowledge of the early generations has come ONLY from this book, and I only discovered the book in the summer of 1997. I am willing to do lookups in the book after the index is completed. I have my direct lineage posted on my home page.

Another researcher mentioned that while the book is not free of errors, it is a good research TOOL. Please be aware that any research should be verified for accuracy before accepting the information as fact.
