I am having the same problem of figuring out the parents of my 4th great-grandmother (Susan Jane Cozart). She was born in Granville Co., North Carolina abt 1791/93. I found in my research that the Cozart's of N.C. seem to be all decendents of Anthony Cossart, Jr. and his to wives (Wilhemima Henrickson and Nancy McKinnie). Anthony Cossart Jr.'s son Jacob Cozart and his wife (?) William followed Anthony and Wilhemima to N. C. from PA. There Wilhemima died and Anthony married Nancy Mckennie. Anthony and Nancy had Jessie Cozart (m. Elizabeth Walker), Joshua Cossart and Jeremiah Cossart. Jacob Cozart and his wife had Benjemin Cozart (m. Sally Reeves), Thomas Cozart (m. Mary Gross), William Cozart (m. Holly Mangum), James Cozart (m. Frances Howard, and Jemima Cozzart (m. Thomas Philpott). Because of the marrigaes and the dates of births I have been able to conclude that Susan Jane's parentents were either (Benjemin and Sally or Jessie and Elizabeth). I believe that Susan and your William were either siblings or cousins. Following you will find a quick linage back from Anthony Cossart Jr.
