Lori - I have Jane's full name as Jane Cox (not Coy) Willard (Woolard), She was first married to Hugh Willard (Woolard). He died in Grainger Co., Tn. I do not have any further info on him. Jane married John Renfro in 1806 in Knox Co., Tn. Send me your mailing address and I will send a copy of the picture of the Renfro farmhouse. My 2nd cousin Charles Renfro and his wife live in the house and still farm and raise cattle. Charles married late in life and has no children of his own, although his wife's children and grandchildren love him very much. I do not know what will happen to the farm when he passes away. I do not think any of his stepchildren will want to keep it. I wish I could buy the farm. It is a shame that something that has been in the Renfro family (deeded from the Mitchell side of the family) for more than 200 years should suddenly be sold to someone else not related. My grandfather grew up in that house. He and Charles' father were half brothers. Charles' mother got me started on the family history as she had to research it for the bicentennial celebration in 1976. The family is a First Family of Tennessee since the farm has been worked by a member of the family since about 1806. John and Jane are buried in a field beside the house along with many others of the family.

Jane's father was Thomas Cox and her mother was Jennet ? I have not been able to find anything on them. I have a lot on the Renfros and would be glad to help you in any way I can.

Donna Renfro Morris
