William Coxen's first wife was Anna Elliker, the daughter of Casper Elliker of Huntington Twp. York Co. Pennsylvania (now Latimore, Adams Co.). They appear in the records of the Lower Bermudian Lutheran and Reformed Union Church, where their children were baptized, as William (or Wilhelm, or Willem) and Anna Gocksen (or Goksen).
Their children were:
Sussanna, Christened 7 MAY 1751
Anna Maria, Christened 30 May 1753
Casper, Christened 28 Aug 1757
In Casper Elliker's will dated 27 May 1766 he gives to his grandchildren Casper Coxen 25 pounds when he reaches the age of 21, and to Schewsannah Coxen 25 at the age of 18, and to Mary Coxen 25 pounds at the age of 18. He also gave to his beloved son-in-law William Coxen 5 shillings sterling. By then Anna had died and William had remarried.
The baptisms of William and Christina Gocksen's children where also in the Lower Bermudian Church:
Joh. Wilhelm, Christened 13 JAN 1761
Elisabeth, Christened 11 APR 1761
Hanna, Christened 04 SEP 1763
The baptism's of Sussanna, Anna Maria,Casper and Joh. Wilhelm where by Rev. Jacob Lischy and recorded in his private records. The sponsors for Sussanna and Casper where Casper and Sussanna Elliker.
