I have been sorting old files and found the following email that I had copied from Prodigy dated Sept 10, 1992. I have copied it exactly as written and I have no idea who has the bible. “I purchased an old, stained coverless Bible at a flea market. In the back, in handwriting, is information re a Gray family. Since I have a Gray ancestor, way back, I intend to keep the book, but want to share the information. It reads: Samuel Gray was born in (hard to decipher but I believe it may be Pennsylvania?) January the 2nd, 1814 Margaret Cox was born in (typed as written) Indiania February the 13th, 1822 Samuel and Margaret Gray was married August the 15th 1839 ________ (could be Rebina or Rebana?) Gray was born May the 2nd, 1840 in Taney County, Missouri at 7 o’clock on Saturday evening. Elizabeth Gray was born June the 1, 1842 on Wednesday at 2 o’clock in Randolph County, Arkansas, within 40 steps of the state line. This one is in pencil – very hard to read Margaret Ellen Gray was born ???? the 30th in 1844 in Madison County (?? Ill??) on Saturday at 2 o;clock. Manarvy Gray was born September the 1 (part of page torn) 1846 on Tuesday morning at 10 o’clo (page torn) in Murfrelow (?) Count (page torn) Iowa in Keoku (page torn) township. Salathiel or Galathiel Gray was born March 25, 1816 Melcki Gray was born April the 3, 1848 on Monday at 10 o’clock in Wappeow County Iowa, Keokuk Township. Hope this is helpful to someone, and if someone from Keokuk can read and translate the counties (two for same township?) that would be helpful, too.
