The family of Hopkins Muse Cox was one of the earliest families to settle in Jackson Co., AL, as well as surrounding counties in AL and TN. Hopkins' family and known descendants are presented in two books, by Walter Russell, pub. in 2009, by Authorhouse: "Des. of Matthew Russell and Related Families of Jackson Co., AL" and "Walter Alley and Related Families of The Tenn. Valley;" both are subtitled: "A Collection of Genealogies." These collections of genealogies were contributed by family historians who shared their records and memorabilia to assure their family memories would never fade. Some of these contributors are identified in the text while others are listed in endnotes. The combined efforts of everyone involved resulted in the books shown above. The books are available in both hardback and softback. They contain 548 and 412 pages, respectively. They are fully indexed with over 8500 and over 6500 names, respectively.
