This is a long shot, but I guess that's where message boards can be helpful. Have any of you fellow Coxes come across a sign that says "COX BAKING CO." ? A few years ago, my father spotted the sign in a window in Flagstaff, Arizona. I didn't understand at the time, how certain my dad was that this was the original sign from his father's company in New York back in the 1930s.
It would be about 1' x 3' horizontal, originally navy blue on orange, probably fading to a much lighter background color over the years.
My grandfather died after the business went under during the Great Depression. Although only eleven years old at the time, my dad possesses a wealth of memories. He's 82 now and I'd sure like to locate this sign for him if it's do-able.
