Here's what I have found: From the North Carolina Death Collection, 1908-2004, Howard Leslie Cox Sr. Male White Married Father's Last Name: C Age:63 DOB: 5 March 1920 Birth Location: NC Residence City: Concord County: Cabarrus DOD: 27 Oct. 1983 Death State: NC Institution: Hospital Attendant: Pysician Source: NC Department Of Health I found in William Henry Cox's WW1 Draft Registration Card, this info: Born: 30 July 1881 Residence: Cabarrus, NC Race: White Roll: 1765624 Occupation: Mail Carrier for U.S. mail Nearest Relative: Mrs. William Henry Cox Height: Medium Build: Medium Color of ____? (eyes or hair - couldn't read this): Grey Color of ____? (eyes or hair - couldn't read this): light He answered "No" to the qestion of whether he has any deformities or handicaps. In the 1920 Census of Concord, NC, taken on Jan. 7, 1920, William H. Cox is listed as head of household in a home he owns. His spouse is Laura. His father's birthplace is NC, as well as his mother's. He is able to read and write. I couldn't make out what his occupation was. Here are all the rest of the household: Boyd Cox 16, Edwin Cox 13, Coy(?)Cox 10, Claud Cox 8, Clarence Cox 5, Frank Allred 7, Morrison Allred 4 5/12, Estella Allred 2 3/12. I found a Certificate of Death of Boyd William Cox, b. 10/3/1903. He died on 3/7/1948 at 5:15p.m. His occupation was: Owner of Cox Drug Co. His address was 1218 Myrtle Ave. His wife was Beulah Furr Cox. His father is W.H. Cox b. NC His mother's maiden name is Laura Herrin. His burial was on 3/9/48 at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC. Cause of death was cirrhosis. I also found a Certificate of Death of Claud Arty Cox, age 51, b. 16 Nov. 1911. His address was 212 Ross Street in Concord, NC. He died 14 Feb. 1963 in Concord. His spouse was Kathleen F. Cox. His Father's name: William Henry Cox. His mother's maiden name: Laura Herrin. He was a driver for Akers Motor Line in Concord, NC. He was a WWII veteran. Cause of death was Cor Pulmonale, secondary to Emphysema. It is stated that the interval between onset of this and death was at least seven years. An autopsy was performed. Burial was on 2/17/63 at the Carolina Park Cemetery, near Concord.
