Hi,
I also come from part of this line.If you check the Hacker's Creek (WV) Pioneer Descendants website, you can find more about Phillip & Christiana Stelle (she was a Mayflower descendant) Cox and Phillip's father & mother, Isaac & Sarah (Sutton) Cox.Father & son brought their families to what is now West Virginia in the early 1790's.Later, Isaac & Sarah took part of their children when they moved to Greene County, Ohio. After Sarah died (& is buried on what is now part of Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton), Isaac returned to VA (later West VA) for his final years. He is buried in Jane Lew, WV.Both Isaac and his oldest son, Phillip, were veterans of the Rev. War.
One of the "mistakes" mentioned in another posting is about Dorcas Cox's last name. She was a "Hull," not a Graves. Her parents were Phineas Hull & Jerusha (Hitchcock) Hull.Phineas was the son of Joseph Hull and the grandson of the Rev. Joseph Hull, who was quite famous in the Massachusetts Bay Colony.(Any search engine will give you a LOT of info about him!).Jerusha's father was Lt. Richard Hitchcock. All of these names are well-documented in early New England records.
Now, if we could only document the Cox line so well!
Happy Hunting!
