Death of a Cowley

Joseph COWLEY, c. 1864, Long Compton, ENG. Emmigrated to Marshall, MI sometime between 1881-1889. Married Emma Hart[h]er in July 1889 in Marshall. 5 children: Mary, Charles, Roy, Goldie, Joseph. He died sometime between 1898-1900. Supposedly worked for "the gas company" and died in a gas explosion. We cannot find any info out to confirm or deny this. Anyone having any info, it would be greatly appreciated.
