All England Cowleys please note useful Cowley book

I have recently visited the Society of Genealogists in London and in their refernce section of Family Histories, submitted by previous researchers, is a book solely dedicated to Cowleys from Gloucestershire, Lancashire, Devon, Suffolk, etc. Someone in the past has researched marriages births deaths, newspaper cuttings, etc all to do with the surname Cowley. The book has references to Phillmore, Boyd, has references to Wills, etc.

For those who are interested please note that the book cannot be taken out on loan but a visit to the Society (5 minutes from Barbican tube) costs £3.00 for 1 hour (£8.00 for 4 hrs, closed Monday)and if you are heading that way it could save you a lot of searching. Obviously it doesn't have 'everything' (especially the marriage that I am particularly searching for!!...see threads below)but it is an interesting reference.

The book is on the second floor, is reference FH/COW and is currently located on the lowest shelf in the section B-F of 'Family Histories'.

Hope someone finds this useful, please feel free to email me if I have missed anything.

Julian
