I have just completed a study of the Cowles ancestry of Nina Marion Cowles (1873-1954) of Waterbury Conn, wife of George Edwards Judd. This nine gneeration survey includes matrilinear and paternal lines. Here are the details:
Four American Ancestries: White, Griggs, Cowles, Judd, including Haring, Phelps, Denison, Clark, Foote, Coley, Haight, Ayers, and related families. Peter Haring Judd, compiler (New York, by the compiler, 2009), 3 vols., 1060 pp., softcover; Every name and place index; eleven generation Ahnentafel, descent charts.
This study includes over 2,000 persons and 277 families. There are excerpts from contemporary and other materials to provide historical context. The work will be of interest and use to anyone with family associations in early Massachusetts, colonial and later Connecticut, and 17th, 18th, and 19th century New York.
