I have been looking at Mary Kate Cowles (1857-1893) who married William H. McDermott in Brooklyn, NY in 1879. (Mary) Kate was the daughter of George and Ellen W. Cowles. The reason Kate interests me is that she was Lillian (Lillie) McDermott's mother. Lillie McDermott Drew was a girlhood friend of my relatives, Sarah (Sadie) Connor and Katie Kennedy, according to the Brooklyn Eagle.
