Rick and Erin,

I am working on the Cowles lines in Virginia. There were 2 lines of Thomas Cowles (several generations each)living in adjacent counties (Charles City Co & James City Co) at almost the same time. It has been confusing.

The Charles City line is documented back to Edmund Cowles, in the mid - late 1600s and the James City line is documented back to John Cowles, 1700. I am trying to find the common ancestor.

I know there was a Richard Cowles in Jamestown about 1614, but I can't link him to anybody. Can you help?

Melissa
