Looking for more information on William Cowles:
Cowles William R. of Lyon, Mich., December 1843 born in Ohio; Aug. 11, 1862 enlisted at Lyon as drummer, Co. I, 22nd Mich. Infantry Rgt. June 26, 1865 mustered out at Nashville, Tenn. c.1877 married; July 14, 1877 applied for a pension; 1900 farmer at Vernon, Shiawassee County, Mich.
April 29, 1910 his widow Carry/Cassie Cowles applied for a pension while living in Michigan. wife Cassie Cowles, January 1857 born in Michigan; Child: Daisy Cowles, January 1883 born in Michigan (only child of four born to family)
