I am a descendant of Festus Cowherd and Mary LaFayette Perry. They were my great grandparents. The information I have came from my mother's cousin Connie Crabtree. She had research the Cowherds and Perrys. Mary's parents were John Theadore Sprig Perry born 1 Dec 1832 in Rockbridge Co. Va. Died Charleston W.Va. 1913. His parents were Thomas Little Perry and Mary Knowls. He married Fannie Independance Hoffman. She was born Liberty, Bedford Co. Va in 1837. Died on 19 June 1884 in Charleston. W.Va. Connie told me she hit deadends on the Perry side. I have a lot on the Cowherds. Would be glad to share.
