I don't have anything that is documented for anything back farther than James I who was the first in Va. as far as I know but I have found Cowherds in Lancashire Co., Eng.[ now in Cumbria} It is beautiful . I found some christenings in some copies of English church records.here in the states. Two mentioned were a William, father of James and a James and others. Could very well be ours.
