Hi Bruce,
Sorry I didn't yet reply to your email -- I have been trying to add new info to my tree and I got sidetracked. Right now, it looks like my Theodore Cowen is the son of Eddy Cowen (b. 1781 in Rhode Island) of Tolland, Connecticut. Some of that family settled in Conewango, NY. My Theodore moved to Illinois and then to Wisconsin. There is no sign of a Robert in this tree.

My problem with Marilla is she always answered "Cowen" when asked for her maiden name -- and maybe it was (or Cowin or Cowan). My father keeps thinking there IS a Pennsylvania connection but I think that is only based on one Wisconsin census and that could have been because the daughter's husband was born in PA. The search for Marilla's ancestors is ongoing.

I have suggested the Family DNA Project to my Dad -- what are your impressions of it?

We may yet find a connection between our families!
Marsha
