Marcha,

I noticed from several postings, you have Cowen ancestry in Connecticut.

My ancestry can be traced back to Robert Cowen who was born in Connectuit in 1765. He moved with his wife Lydia (nee Harrell) to "western Pennsylvania" where they had a son, John on 9 July 1800. I strongly suspect John had brothers and sisters as well, but it has not been proved.

One source said they had moved to Westmoreland county in Pennsylvania, but in the 1790 census I don't see a Robert Cowen. I did find two Robert Cowen's in Chester county, but they may be "too" old for the one born in Connecticut, based on the number of over 16 people at the same home.

Do you see any connection to your research?

I have taken part in the Family DNA project, but so far no real matches.

Bruce Cowen
