COWEN Theodore (b.1822 CT) & Marilla (b.1822 NY)

I am trying to determine if my gg-grandfather, Theodore Cowen, was the son of Eddie Cowen of Tolland, Connecticut (b.1781 RI - d.1850 CT).

Eddie was the son of John Cowen (b.1754, Glocester, Rhode Island - d.1845 Conewango, NY) and Olive Smith (b.1763, RI - d.1832, Tolland CT), and he did have a son by that name.

Information is available for Eddie's sons John M. and Norman E. G. Cowen, but haven't found anything about Theodore to help me confirm our relationship.

I do not know Marilla's surname, but did find a Marilla Townsend of about the right age living in Cattaraugus County, in Ischua.

Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks!
