Amos,
Could the Allen Cowart listed in Coosa county 1850 census-Southern Dist pg 136 be related to your William. Is there any mention of him in the Cowart Bible. He married Francis A.E Comer in Muscogee in 1848 and had sons named Frank and George in Ga. The must have moved to Coosa where they had
3 more sons, two whose names I can't read and the last one is John. It has been said that the last time Allen was seen was in the 1880 Pike County Census. It seems like my people and yours seemed to have taken the same routes or at least very similar. I believe this Frank is the one listed on my Grandfather's death cert. His name was Griggsby Thomas Cowart. Can you help me with any information on these folks.
Regards,
Christina Myers
