My ancestress, Annie Cowart (b. 1825 in Alabama as either the youngest or next-to-the youngest child of Ephraim Cowart who had migrated from South Carolina to Georgia and, finally, to Alabama) was married to Bryant Spears and had a daughter named Keziah ("Kissie"). The name is so unusual that one would not expect a parent, even in the 19th century, to lightly inflict it on a child, unless there were some relative or close friend the child were being named after. It's just a guess, but your Keziah Cowart might very well be a somewhat older sister of Annie, being born between 1815 to 1820. Ephraim Cowart, according to available census records, had a very large number of children, none of whom the census records identified by name (though age ranges are given). I feel sure he must have had at least two wives, as his oldest child (a son whom I think is Jesse Cowart and who lived for a time near Ephraim in Alabama) is almost 30 years older than Annie. I know I am not giving you anything definite, but I hope it might help you better pinpoint your future research. Hikaru
