I am reseraching the Cowart/Coward family with connections in various ways with several North Carolina counties including Dobbs, Greene, Craven and New Hanover counties. My direct line is Frances Cowart (1766 to 1812, born in Greene Co.and died in New Hanover). She married Jonathan Williams in Craven County in 1787. Frances was the daughter of Elisha Cowart (about 1755 to about 1819). Elisha Cowart was the son of William Cowart. Elisha's wife is not known.William's wife was Ann Griffin. Can anyone share any info with me about this line?
