Rev. William D. Cowart, 89, of Ora Lee West Homes, died early Saturday in a nursing home after several years of ill health.
He was born in Brooks County and had lived in Valdosta for the past ten years. He was a Baptist minister, a Mason and a member of Greenwood Baptist Church
He is survived by several children and one brother.
Graveside services are to be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. Rev. Dayton Kannon, pastor of Gateway Baptist church and Rev. Clyde Stokes, pastor of Greenwood Baptist Church, are to officiate.
