Nancy -- unfortunately my Coward ancestry was too far removed for much info concerning them to pass down my ancestral path. I do have the same birthdata for Nancy that you state. Zachariah Coward married Jane Fortune probably c1821 or so - no facts. Zach was also in Barnwell Co., SC in 1820. Zach and Jane, along with several of her Fortune relatives, moved to Jackson Co., FL c1825 and were on the 1830 census there. Zach purchased 80 ac near Marianna, FL May 16, 1833. Zach and Jane then moved northwards, with some of their kin settling in Pike Co., AL whereas Zach and Jane were in Coosa Co., AL by 1840 and then Pickens Co., AL by 1850. Their daughter Frances Ann Coward (c1834) married Benjamin Calvin Johnson who died near Lauderdale, MS Jul 18, 1863 in the CW. Frances then married David Woods whose lines are not related to me. I am from the Johnson line. Zach died in Pickens Co., AL Jan 7, 1878. There has been some confusion and mixed dates surrounding Zach, but these data come from a Johnson family source. Most of my Coward info has come from other Coward researchers, and due to several common and repeating names, a lot of confused dates have been derived by various folks. Some folks say that Phoebe died shortly after the birth of their son Needham c1790 or so, but I have six additional children born to Needham (c1746) after that date - don't have a 2nd spouse identified.
