Census information now shows that Francis Coward's father John Coward was born in 1811 in Heaton Norris, Lancashire.
He married Adeline Peters in West Ham, London in 1837 and they had ten children - Abigail, Adeline, Catherine, Francis, Henry, Horace, John W, Mary, Rowland and Sarah - all born in Stratford, London.
