I have a John Coward (b. Mar 9, 1799) near Ely, Cambridgeshire, England; married to Elizabeth Bates (b. Jan. 25, 1809) and married in July 1829. They had 9 children, 6 of which grew to adult age. Susanna (Susan) married a Rowell. John. William. Mary, married an Allen. Sarah, married a Young. Richard. Family lore has it that Richard Coward was a guard for President Lincoln the night he was shot. Familiar enough to be called by name by the President.
I have very little info, would like more.
