Needham and Zachariah are two of several Coward families on the 1820 Barnwell Co. SC census. Allen W. Coward is a son of Zachariah and married Dorcas Johnson, dau of Benjamin Johnson of SC (?). I am descended from Frances Ann Coward who married Benjamin Calvin Johnson, son of Benjamin above. These Cowards were in Jackson Co. FL in 1830, Coosa Co. AL in 1840 and Pickens Co. AL in 1850.
