Needham Coward Jr. was my 3rd gr.grandfather. He was also a Magnolia Ranger, Co. D, 1st Bde, Texas 1st Cavalry, Texas State Militia, CSA. Has some information on the unit, and about Lucrezia Coward, Rebecca Coward, Richard Coward, Allen Coward, Hardy Coward, Elizabeth Coward. Any of these names familiar? They were living in Galveston County at the time of the War Between the States. Some are buried in the Magnolia Cemetery in League City. A private family cemetery, with the Butlers, and Perkins families, who were also members of the Magnolia Rangers. I have formed a Magnolia Rangers Direct Descendant's Association.
