I descend from James Sr's son William. James Sr. had 4 sons that I know of. The other 3 were James Jr., Benjamin, and Thomas.
William had 2 sons: John and James. This John married Elizabeth Griffin and had 5 sons. I haven't heard of any daughters from these families, altho I'm sure there were some. I descend as this.

Leona Ruth Donalson was my mother.
The name Cowherd changed to Coward then to Cowart. Along this line, it was William who changed to Coward and then Abraham Whitehead changed it to Cowart.
I do know that David moved to Texas in the early 1800's along with several children.
