I am decended from Allen Coward who married an Indian woman (Cherokee). Family records say they probably married in SC (late 1700s?). They had 2 children, Nancy and Allen. Nancy married Samuel Lee. They moved to MS. Allen is said to have moved on to Texas. Nancy was made a councilwoman of the Choctaw in MS and was present at the Treaty of Laughing Rabbit Creek. Her daughter, Mary Jane, was also highly regarded by the Choctaw. Do you have any further information on this family?
