Can ANYONE please tell me where I can find ANY piece of documentation with the name James Jasper Cowan? My husband's ggggrandfather was James Cowan who married Margaret (Peggy) Moore in St. Clair county Alabama in 1844. They lived there for about forty years and had many children. I cannot seem to get past James at all. When I check with other Cowan researchers, most have "Peggy" as being married to a James 'Jasper' Cowan, but can't seem to tell me WHERE they foudn that name/info and that he was the son of Francis Cowan. I have researched this man for about 10 years now and have never been able to make that definite connection. I'm getting very worn and discouraged.
Does anyone know?
