William Cowan family Quebec City, Drummondville and Montreal, Que., 1820 - 1900s

Looking for information about the family of William Cowan and Elizabeth Kemp. William, born about 1797, was a York Chasseur and was in Quebec City presumably because this military group disbanded there in 1819. William Cowan married Elizabeth or Eliza Kemp, born 1802, (parents Robert and Jane) in Quebec City in 1821. This couple had children in the Quebec City and Drummondville areas from 1822 to 1840.

Son William, born 1826 (and possibly other children also) lived in Montreal from 1840 on. Some of this family also moved on to the Toronto area. Daughter Jane Cowan married Alfred Osborne about 1854 and they are in the Ontario 1861, Toronto Township census with 3 children.

Any connections?
