My great-great-grandfather, Andrew Cowan, was born in Durham, UK around 1809, brought his family to Missouri ca. 1870, died there in the mid-1870s. Had 4 sons and 2 daughters all born in the UK. Sons Thomas and Harry returned to Durham and settled in Stockton-on-Tees, where they are found in the census. Sons Will and Andrew stayed in the US. It is supposed but not verified that Will never married. Andrew married Cassandra Jane Vaughn and had a daughter, Tingie or Tinsie, and a son, Andrew Ethelburt (or Ethelburt Andrew) who relocated to Denver by 1920. He had 3 sons according to the census -- Harold Jackson b. 1900 (wife Maude, daughter Rosalind b. 1927), Russell A. b. 1904, Andrew E. b. 1908. Any info about the Colorado branch, or others, would be great to fill in the gaps!
