I wonder if any direct member of the family (John, Israel, Caleb and Joshua Cowing of Rochester, MA ca. 1740) has completed the ychromosome DNA? (I see that there is a quite a list of Cowen families that are listed on the Family Tree DNA site, but I can't determine if this line has been submitted.)
Secondly does anyone know of a connection between this family and Cowan families from North Carolina during this time period?
