The 1880 census of Coffeeville, Yalobusha County, Mississippi lists a J. B. Covington, age 66, Farmer, b. North Carolina; wife E. E., age 46, housekeeper, b. Alabama; son J. J., age 30, Farmer, married, b. Georgia; son E.S.B., age 20, Farmer, single, b. Mississippi. I have determined that the wife, "E.E.", to be Elizabeth Evaline Murphree, d/o Roland Jennings Murphree and Polly Steelman. She is buried at Coffeeville Cemetery, Yalobusha, Mississippi. I did find a J. B. Covington, b. January 24, 1808(the listing has a question mark after the birth year), d. November 26, 1884, buried in the Covington Cemetery in Clark County, Mississippi. Using the 1808 date, this does not agree with the 1880 census record. No connection. I have not been able to find any further information whatsoever on her husband or sons. Would appreicate any help that anyone might have should they be researching this same family. Thank you, muchly. Notify Administrator about this message?
