period of your JOhn, Stanton/Staunton Covey
Have you ran across this one..?
Please help me find info on my GreatGreatGrandMothers Clarissa/Clara Covey and her Family. They appear in several Census INdex's of Jefferson Co Ny and St Lawrence Co Ny 1820-30. She is in the 1850 census with her family.. Clarissa was born 13 Nov 1806 to Stanton and Axie/Axle Covey.
The only info I have is that She and John Sanderson were married by the Rev Noal Barrell 7 Sep 1823 at Antwerp Jefferson Co NY
and they had 11 Children 8 in Watertown Jefferrson Co NY and 2 in Fowler St Lawrence Co NY. There is no info on the 1 child who may have died early. Rev Barrell also married his Daughter to a Peter/Phillip Covey later on.
John Sanderson had fought Napoleon and then was sent to fight the U.S. in the War of 1812. We Think he may have deserted and a fellow deserter robbed him and left him for dead and he was bound by the Covey's . They lived in Watertown Jefferson Co NY until 1850 and show up in both the NY and Mi index's. they all moved to HIllsdale co Mi later in 1850 and after JOhn died in 1862 moved to Isabella Co Mi where Clarissa married William Dush who's father built Dushville Mi. I have researched all the Covey's back to Hope Covey and i now believe
Stanton was his middle name. Does any have
the knowledge of any covey from NY 1780-1830 with the middle initial of S. I can't believe they lived in Watertown Jefferson co NY for 27 years and nothing has been found
anywhere on them including their 11 Children's births. All Help will be greatly

New info Stanton Covey's wife was from
a Cannon-McIntosh Vermont marriage.
